XPages is a new technology introducted to Notes / Domino in version 8.5
XPages allows us to much develop web based Lotus applications with real "Web 2.0" functionality. In real terms this means that it is now possible to cost effectively build web applications which are first rate and can be used as powerful business tools.
This Wiki and our Ticket system are both built on Xpages.
XPages is the biggest thing to happen to Lotus Notes in the last 5 years and has real significance for the owners and users of web based Lotus applications. For example it means that we can now bring you applications over the web that were previously only affordable if developed using a Notes Client.
XPages also allows us to convert existing Notes and Domino applications from Notes to the web re-using much of the existing code and so the reducing costs of migration - a very useful approach if you are implementing Sharepoint.
